Health unions, including the BDA have received an invite from the Government to enter into formal pay talks. Clarification on the basis of these talks is being gained before a decision is taken as to whether these talks will go ahead.
This week the BDA announced that dietitians will go on strike in 43 NHS Trusts in England in the coming weeks and wrote to the Prime Minister to inform him of this decision from members.
Annette Mansell-Green, Director of the BDA Trade Union and Public Affairs said: “We are still moving forward with our mandate for industrial action. Until we have a clear understanding of the purpose of these talks we won’t be agreeing to enter into them, along with our fellow health unions in the NHS staff council."
