AHPs Day - 14 October 2026

7 October 2026

On 14 October, we'll be joining the 13 other Allied Health Professions (AHPs) across England to celebrate AHPs Day.

The AHP community plays a vital role in system-wide care, assessing, treating and diagnosing patients across health and social care and beyond.

AHPs Day serves the opportunity for the AHP workforce to come together to celebrate its breadth and collective strength, which are central to the future of the NHS and the delivery of high-quality care across settings.

To mark the day, the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer for England, Professor Suzanne Rastrick CBE, will release a message to the AHP workforce in the morning - this will be shared via the Office of the CAHPO LinkedIn account and on Future NHS.

In the afternoon, the CAHPO Awards 2026 winners will be announced via the Chief AHP Officer bulletin, which you can subscribe to here.

We'd like to share our congratulations to members for being shortlisted in the following categories:

  • AHP Research Impact Award - Lucy Gardner
  • AHP Workforce Transformation Award - Emma Stennett, Miranda Lomer, Barbara Holt, Heather Browne
  • Greener AHP Award - Nutrition and Dietetics Green Team, Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

Members are encouraged to highlight your contributions amongst the wider AHP workforce and multidisciplinary teams. If you are sharing anything on social media, please tag us in so we are able to share what you are up to.

You might like to discuss and share content around this year’s theme, which is ‘Celebrating AHPs Deliver’. With the current AHP strategy completing its term in 2027, it offers the chance for you to reflect on how your day-to-day dietetic practice aligns with the strategy, which can be found here. The key themes are:

1. An enhanced foundation theme, such as:

  • AHPs champion and promote diverse and inclusive leadership
  • AHPs in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills
  • AHPs commit to research, innovation and evaluation
  • AHPs further harness digital technology and innovation through data

2. One of the five areas of focus, such as:

  • People first
  • Optimising care
  • Social justice - addressing health and care inequalities
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Strengthening and promoting the AHP community

3. Interprofessional collaboration and innovation between AHPs
