Members in England are invited to sign an open letter to Health Secretary Wes Streeting on the 3.3% pay rise for NHS staff.
The letter warns the pay award fails to keep pace with the cost of living, won't repair years of lost pay and doesn't address the lower pay rises for those on Agenda for Change contracts than other groups in recent years.
We are one of 14 unions representing more than a million health workers on the NHS Agenda for Change pay scale. We know that staff are angry and feel deeply let down after years of falling wages and relentless pressure. You told us this in the recent pay temperature check survey many of you responded to.
Sonila Ellahi, Director of Trade Union and Employee Relations at the BDA says, "We thank all members who responded to our recent pay survey and now urge you to take this opportunity to show your support in the next stage of our pay campaign by signing the open letter to the Secretary of State.
"We are working closely with our union colleagues across the health sector in this next phase and its important that we continue to keep the pressure on and highlight the concerns of our members.”
If you are a member in England, add your name to the letter here.
