Who can apply?
Researchers, innovators and experts from any discipline, sector or country whose expertise could contribute to preventing food allergy. Applicants must apply as individuals and be supported by an eligible research institution that can provide appropriate governance and research oversight. Disciplines may include dietetics, public health, epidemiology, immunology, microbiology, environmental science, data science, artificial intelligence, and other relevant fields.

Funding available:
Natasha's Prize is a £10 million global research initiative focused on preventing food allergy. Up to 35 successful applicants will initially be selected to participate in a three-day interdisciplinary "Thinkery" research sandpit in October 2026. Following this, collaborative teams will be invited to develop full research proposals for consideration for funding from the £10 million prize fund.

Additional information:

  • Applications are open to individuals from a wide range of disciplines and sectors.
  • The research focus is on identifying interventions during the first 1,000 days of life (from conception to age two) that could prevent food allergy from developing.
  • Successful applicants will attend the Natasha's Prize Thinkery in Windsor, Berkshire, from 20–22 October 2026.
  • Interdisciplinary teams will be formed during the Thinkery to develop innovative research proposals.
  • Applicants must be willing to collaborate across disciplines, institutions and countries.
  • Dietitians and public health professionals are specifically identified as professions that may contribute valuable expertise.
