Early-Stage CKD

Kidney disease frequently occurs as a comorbidity in other specialties. In the UK, as many as 1 in 10 people have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and prevalence increases with age—affecting 1 in 4 men over 65. Rates are rising rapidly.

Recent research and updated guidelines have highlighted the role of diet in slowing CKD progression. This page provides up-to-date resources for dietitians who do not specialise in kidney care but support patients with CKD. We hope you find these resources helpful.

We warmly welcome dietitians from all specialties to join the Kidney Dietitian Specialist Group (KDSG), formerly known as the Renal Nutrition Group (RNG). If you have an interest in kidney health or work in an area that overlaps with CKD, we encourage you to become a member. Your input is valuable in helping us support you to manage CKD in line with the latest evidence and guidance. Membership also provides access to additional resources, free webinars, bursaries, and more.
