The BDA is the only trade union and professional body that solely represents the interests of the dietetic workforce. Our role as a trade union ensures the rights of our members are protected, that they are represented in discussions around pay and terms and conditions, across all four nations and that workplace issues are tackled.
Every September, the BDA Trade Union attends the TUC Congress, as it serves the opportunity to raise and discuss issues affecting members with the wider trade union movement.
On Friday 3 July, the BDA stood with other NHS trade unions to deliver a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, calling for the focus and investment needed to make fair pay in the NHS a reality.
The BDA is aware of growing concern about the availability of Band 5 dietetic roles. We are taking a series of coordination actions to understand what is happening and to influence national decision-making.
